Interview: Mono Bagends

Rising New York rapper Mono Bagends has been getting a lot of love and attention from bloggers, DJs, and Radio Stations nation and worldwide just off his single "On Fire", we here at New York Rising caught up with the artist for a quick Q & A session.  Here is what Mono Bagends had to say......

New York Rising:  What part of New York are you representing?
Mono Bagends:  Brooklyn

New York Rising:  For those that aren't from where you are, what are some of the best spots to visit?
Mono Bagends:  Anywhere you won't get robbed...just joking...it depends on what you want to do...they are plenty of clubs to go to if that's your thing. You can check out Madison Square Garden, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty if you are into the site seeing. Check out a Broadway show. This is the city that never sleeps.

New York Rising:  What is one stereotype about New York, and New Yorkers that you can honestly say isn't true?

Mono Bagends: That we are all rude people. Trust me we definitely have an attitude to us but it's all part of our charm...

New York Rising:  Who are some local, New York recording artists that you respect?

Mono Bagends:  Jay Z, Busta Ryhmes, Fabolous...BK All Day

New York Rising:  Where do you see New York's music scene headed in the next 5 years, as far as hip hop?

Mono Bagends:  Tough question. Hopefully, it will become more skill based than gimmick based.

New York Rising:  For those that haven't heard your single "On Fire", could you tell the readers what they are missing?
Mono Bagends: A positive, inspirational song about a man overcoming his troubles to achieve success. The chorus is sick, video is ridiculous and overall word play is incredible....you can say I'm proud of it.

New York Rising: If you could sum up your style in just 5 words, what would those 5 words be?

Mono Bagends: Original, positive, inspiring, direct and dope.

New York Rising:  Is there anything else you would like to plug or any other mentions?

Mono Bagends:  Check me out on the internet at the normal social media spots:facebook -  https://www.facebook.com/monobagendsmusic

D.I.V. "Look At Me" (Official Video)

D.I.V. goes hard with another video from his critically acclaimed mixtape The Vision's The Foundation.

This time around the music video is for the song "Look At Me" (a great follow up to his previously released video "U C Me" featuring Hop Da Great and Nuf $ed). D.I.V. spits a hot quick verse over a gritty NY track produced by the talented Jay Chef that features a sped up voice sample that sings out the title of the song. The video itself has a great concept... it just has the camera focusing on D.I.V.'s face while the song plays... so basically the viewers are "looking at him" while the song plays "Look At Me". This music video was also directed by Dic Willie (the same director that put together pretty much all of D.I.V.'s current videos).

DJ Mega-Blaster featuring D.I.V. "On My Level"

Take a listen to this hot new track produced by DJ Mega-Blaster and featuring vocals from rising Yonkers, NY based hip hop recording artist D.I.V. titled "On My Level". DJ Mega-Blaster is known for blending classic 8 bit video game Nintendo samples with hip hop elements for making tracks, while D.I.V. is known for spitting hot lyrics and ear catching metaphors, and on this song D.I.V. does just that. Listen as D.I.V. murders the video game sample and throwing in a few witty game references between lines. This is a nice little fun novelty record that showcases a talented emcee stepping outside the box and proving that he's a well rounded entertainer.
